Ms. Chanley Painter, Assistant Deputy Prosecutor

Assistant Deputy Prosecutor Chanley Painter visited with Heber Springs High School students on Wednesday 12/12/12.  Ms. Painter is a graduate of Conway High School, UCA, the William H. Bowen School of Law, and the William Clinton School of Public Service.  She is a former Ms. Arkansas (2009), and accompilshed fiddle player and model.  Ms. Painter is also the current President of the Cleburne County Bar Association.  She did a great job with the students and they had lots of questions for her.  Thank you Ms. Painter for a great presentation!!!

Drew E. Smith, Assistant Deputy Prosecutor

Assistant Deputy Prosecutor Drew E. Smith came to Heber Springs Schools on two different days in December to discuss his experiences in college, law school, and his experiences as a lawyer.  Mr. Smith is a graduate of Greers Ferry West Side, UCA, and the UALR William H. Bowen School of Law.   The 6th, 7th, and 8th grade students had lots of question for him and many now want to go and see him in action in the courtroom.  He did a great job!!! Thank you Mr. Smith for a great presentation!!!

Christmas Around The World

The 4th and 5th grade GATE students are working on research projects-- Christmas around the world.  We are studying the different cultures and holiday traditions.  The students were assigned countries and are doing most of their research in class.  We will start presenting next Wednesday.

Mr. Eric Thompson, Wildlife Biologist Speaks to GATE Students

Mr. Eric Thompson, Wildlife Biologist with the Fish Hatchery in Heber Springs came and spoke with GATE students on Monday, December 10, 2012.  The kids had lots of questions and enjoyed learning about his job and what he does at the hatchery.

AGATE Cash Drawing

Sally Wehmann of Missouri won the drawing.  She is a former teacher of Marli Hannah and has chosen to donate her cash to Gus Hannah's account.  Some teachers will have a huge and lasting impact on their students lives-- thanks and congrats to Sally and the Hannah Family!!!
