Frozen will be performed next Thursday, December 10th at 1:15 p.m. in the new auditorium.

This should be a great performance.  The group is coming from Batesville, there are students from three different schools being excused to perform for our school.  Ages range from 4 years of age to seniors in high school.  I will seat the 5th grade in the front, then 4th, then 3rd and so on per the directors request.  This is a dance troupe-- singing along during the performance in encouraged!!!!   This should be big fun.  I am working on recording the play for students who may be out for the Honor Choir Field Trip.

Please be sure to look at the art work in the pictures-- our own Mandy Clark did the majority of the work on this set!!!  We may not have all pieces here for the play, as the set was built specifically for a theater in Batesville.

A big thank you  in advance to the AGATE parent group, PTSO, Mrs. Ali West, Mrs. Lindsey Sartin, Mrs. Candyce Allen, Mrs. Keisha Henson, Mrs. Yielding and students, Mr. Prothro and students, Coach Stark, Mrs. Watkins, Mr. Brown, Mrs. Olmstead, Dr. Stauffacher, Mrs. Riddle, Mrs. Adams, Mr. Clemons, Mr. Grace, and Mr. Ogle.  We could not do this without your help and support :-)

Curbside Couture 2016!!!

You supply the students.
We supply design mentoring, materials upon request, and inspiration for all!
Dear Educator,
Each year, the Clinton Presidential Center and the Clinton Museum Store host a fashion show featuring “green” runway designs created by third through twelfth-grade students. The event is tremendously popular and every year we are blown away by the talent of these young designers. This year, we would like to extend a special invitation for your school to participate in the 2016 Curbside Couture Fashion Show.
Last year, more than 160 students proudly walked down the runway at the Clinton Center in designs made of recycled material, from fabric to newspaper and egg crates to duct tape. In fact, 80% of the designs submitted in the past four years were constructed without the use of a sewing machine! The sky is the limit regarding the design construction.
So, how can your students participate?
The 2016 Curbside Couture Fashion Show will occur on Sunday, April 17, 2016, with a mentoring session on March 5, 2016, in which students will have the opportunity to engage with four professional designers and receive feedback about their designs.
There are various ways for educators to guide students through the design process. Whether it be through art clubs, after-school programs, or community mentoring sessions, it is at the teacher’s discretion how they choose to encourage student participation.
Typically, teachers meet with students once or twice a week, starting as early as November, depending on the amount of time needed to execute the students’ vision of their design. Students may work individually or as a group, and they may wish to ask another student to model the design during the show if they are strictly designers and not models.
Scholarships and Awards will be given to winning designers!
Our generous sponsors provide thousands of dollars for awards and scholarships for winning designs. However, the most important reward is discovering a talent they didn’t know they had and showcasing their creations for a standing room only crowd.
We hope you are interested and ready to support your students in this opportunity. Please contact me at 501-258-1127, or email me at Due to logistics, we have limited room for participation, so it is best to contact me as soon as possible. Student registration closes February 1, 2016. To register you students, please click HERE. Additional details will be provided to all registered participants.
Creatively yours,
